Welcome!  I'm Valerie, the one woman show of Valerie's Cakery.  I have been baking and decorating cakes professionally for about 12 years but I have been helping my mom my whole life!  I absolutely love to create new and exciting things out of icing and other edible decorations.  I love challenging myself with new ideas, designs and techniques and am always working on making myself the best I can be.

A little about my work experience- I have worked in many different bakeries all over the country.  Throughout the years I have done a little bit of everything in the baking world.  I have mopped floors all the way to managing and every job in between.  I have never been formally trained, but I have had amazing coworkers and mentors that have helped me grow and learn.  Because of them and the drive I have to learn everything I can I learned many techniques and recipes taught in pastry schools and by baking professionals.  I spend much of my free time (hahaha, free time...)  studying new techniques, learning from online videos and testing out new recipes.

Valerie's Cakery is currently ran out of my state certified and inspected home kitchen.  There are very strict rules on how my home, kitchen, and baking have to be in order to be approved and I'm happy to say that we passed with flying colors. I am inspected once a year and checked on often by our county health inspector.  One day I hope to own a store front, but as a mom to my 3 sweet little boys first, I just don't have the time or ability to run that type of establishment at this time.
